Spending Time on the Costa Blanca

For all of you people out there prepared to have some fun while in Spain, you could do worse than visiting the Costa Blanca, in the Spanish region of Valencia. This fantastic region of Spain forms a part of the province of Alicante, beginning at the small town of Denia and finishing at the celebrated tourist city of Torrevieja.

The Costa Blanca (translated as the "White Coast") has some exquisite beaches that attract both the residents of the area and tourists alike.

The Costa Blanca and Things to Do

In terms of tourist activities, there is an entertainment park called the Terra M?tica at Benidorm, which will appeal to children and adults alike. Another very popular activity in the Costa Blanca area is golf. The Costa Blanca has around 20 or so courses so golf aficionados can be sure that they will never miss out on a few rounds.

While at the Costa Blanca, you might wish to visit popular tourist spots and the beaches like Moraira, Benidorm, Guardamar, Javea, Altea and many others. You could rent a villa for your accommodation to give you a real feel for life in Spain.

90kms from the city of Alicante is Javea which is also situated some 100kms from the city of Valencia (the capital of the region). Javea is a must-visit for the tourists as is gives breathtaking views of world-class mountains including the Montgo mountain.

The whole Costa Blanca area excels in landscapes and many fine beaches... in fact, the Costa Blanca is so famous for its beaches that millions of tourists come here each year, to visit places such as Javea and Denia but Elche, which is called the capital of the world palm, is also another feather in its cap. The village of Calpe (between Altea and Javea) too offers sandy beaches, historical buildings and fantastic scenery. Other places of interest might be the small town of Villajoyosa (meaning "Joyful Town") lying near Benidorm, as well as many other small villages that will give you a real flavour of life in the Costa Blanca region.

The small sea villages provide without doubt some of the most beautiful spots on the Costa Blanca, and are a major attraction for tourists. The Costa Blanca coastline extends for more than 200kms, hence it attracts lots of tourists. As a result it will come as no surprise that the tourist industry and infrastructure of the Costa Blanca is very well established. The region is a favored destination for German, British and other Europeans, such as Scandinavians, who go there for the warm weather, which they lack at home!

Costa Blanca Travel

Flights are available to and from the international airports of Valencia and Alicante, which makes getting to the Costa Blanca extremely simple. The Costa Blanca can also be reached by road from Europe by following the A-7 motor route.

To travel the entire Costa Blanca region, take the Carretera National Highway which passes right through the coast, and gives you possibilities for breaks/picnics along your journey as well as visits to the many villages throughout the route.
